New for 2008! Scan/US for Windows Now Includes Site Factory!

Analyze Thousands of Locations in a Fraction of the Time!

Scan/US Site Factory Multi-site demographic analysis at your fingertips!

Prerequisite: User-defined, geocoded, point-data location layer

Site Factory is a batch processing plug-in for Scan/US which enables you to:

  • Generate maps and demographic reports for thousands of locations or custom polygons automatically
  • Automatically analyze thousands of locations and produce a spreadsheet of demographic data that met your specified criteria
  • Easily extract ring area data out of Scan/US for input into site selection models or further number-crunching in spreadsheets

If you've ever sat in front of your PC for hours running site reports for dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of sites at a time, then Site Factory is the perfect solution for you.  Not only that, Site Factory makes it possible for you to ask questions like, "where are all the locations in a metropolitan area with a minimum population of 'X' and a median household income of "Y", within a 3 mile radius?"

Site Factory is designed to process multiple locations in a single run.  However, this means that you must "give" it a list of locations to process.  You can import your location files into Scan/US in dBASE (.DBF), Excel 3.0/4.0 worksheet (.XLS) or Scan/US ASCII format (.LOC).  User imported files--containing latitude and longitude coordinates--are typically referred to as "point-data files" in Scan/US.

If you have hundreds or even thousands of addresses without coordinates, then you should consider purchasing the Scan/US Batch Geocoder-it will append latitude/longitide coordinates to thousands of addresses in a single run.

If you want to analyze a general area without any pre-selected candidate locations in mind, you can use the "Grid-to-Location Converter" (also included) to quickly turn thousands of Scan/US MicroGrids into Site Factory-ready locations.  Turning MicroGrids into reference locations makes good sense, as MicroGrids only appear where people live and work.

Formerly an "$495 add-on" feature, Site Factory is now standard in every system sold.

Current users with valid licenses may obtain this enhancement by simply running the latest software update from the Support...Downloads page.
